Upper Arlington

The City of Upper Arlington is one of the most prestigious communities in Greater Columbus. The older part of the city features curving streets, large lots, and stately homes built during the early years of the city’s development in the 1920s. But more contemporary housing is also plentiful, as are smaller homes and a diverse mix of rental units.

Upper Arlington provides its residents with exceptional public services. These include police and emergency services, a top-ranked public school system, and free recycling and leaf collection. Recreational opportunities for all ages are available through a system of 33 city parks, a senior center, and three swimming pools. The Upper Arlington Recreation Division organizes athletic teams and a wide variety of activities for children, teens, and adults. Griggs Reservoir, along the western border of Upper Arlington, is a 500-acre City of Columbus park offering fishing, boating, and hiking and biking trails.

Upper Arlington’s nationally acclaimed Labor Day Arts Festival showcases the work of nearly 200 artists; other arts and cultural programs are available throughout the year. The Upper Arlington Public Library provides print and audiovisual materials at three branches.

Upper Arlington’s central location makes it convenient to downtown, the airport, and all of Greater Columbus. The community is particularly convenient to The Ohio State University (OSU): the central campus is approximately three miles east along Lane Avenue. A bike trail also links Upper Arlington and OSU.
