Dating back to the mid-1800s, Bexley is one of the region’s oldest suburbs with beautiful tree-lined streets, outstanding schools and a small, unique business district on Main Street.
A community of nearly 13,000, Bexley is considered one of the most desirable areas in Greater Columbus with a diverse range of housing options from familystarters to estate-sized mansions, including the Ohio Governor’s Mansion. Located in northern Bexley, the Governor’s Mansion — originally built as a private residence in 1925 and given to the state in 1955 — has been home to Ohio’s governors since 1957.
Bexley boasts several excellent public and private educational institutions including: Bexley City Schools; Columbus School for the Girls; St. Catharine School; St. Charles Preparatory School – nearly 100 percent of its graduates attend college; Capital University – a liberal arts university known for its law and business schools; and Trinity Lutheran Seminary – one of region’s few seminaries. Bexley is also known for its excellent city services and police department. The City’s Recreation Department provides programs for every age and operates the City’s swimming pool, tennis courts, a handball court, the Jeffrey Mansion, and several parks throughout the city. Bexley residents also have a large selection of churches and synagogues and community organizations.
In the heart of Bexley is the Main Street business district. A variety of businesses call this area home – from restaurants and specialty shops to dentists and insurance agencies.
The City of Bexley is located just three miles east of downtown Columbus, minutes from Port Columbus International Airport and in close proximity to Interstate 70.
